Please don't read this

I really am not the type of person to sit here and write about my thoughts and feelings. I usually feel funny when I share things that are bothering me or things I am thinking about with everyone. I am going to do it this time because I want to give it a shot. I always feel better when I put my troubles in writing. I am currently facing a huge emotional and spiritual mountain and I didn't see any way I was going to be able to deal with it. I thought about ways to get around it and ways to get over it, and most of the ideas I came up with ended with me getting completely drunk or doing something illegal. Well, I know that those are options for me, however those are not options I really wish to pursue. So the final option was to look at the mountain and compare it to God and see which one was bigger and God won. I suddenly felt a peace and very relaxed, I know there is nothing I can do to make it go away. My only option to successfully deal with the biggest trial I have faced in my life is to do nothing, I am supposed to let God deal with it. Of course God gave me tools and skills to make sure I keep myself moving forward, but it is not for me to worry or stress over the outcome. I am to believe, by faith that God will bring my through this safely and that alone is a very comforting feeling!

Now back to regularly scheduled program!

DAY OFF!

So Phil told me I had to take today off and get a little rest. So the kids and I jumped into our comfortable spots in the house and slept most of the day away. I intermittently woke up to play a game of Madden '08 on the XBOX, but most of the day was spent with my eyes closed.

The huge inconvenience in my much appreciated day off was the fact that my AC decided to crap out. I called the apartment office at about noon and as you can see in the picture I spent the day in a very warm apartment. They finally showed up and said they would recharge the AC unit, hopefully it will cool off in here pretty quick.

The Saints to the Superbowl?

Many of you know that the New Orleans Saints are my team. I was already excited and anticipating this up coming season, however my excitement has set into overdrive. The Saints have traded for Jeremy Shockey. So many weapons and an improvement on Defense, I can't wait to see what we do this season.

So this weekend we had our first service in the new building, and I have to say I was over the top excited. We started the service off with a video that showcased that huge screen you see in the picture. The screen is 45 feet wide and 14 feet tall. CRAZY! Then our Worship Team rocked and Pastor Rick had a great opening day sermon. Looking at the crowd you might think there is not enough people for this place, but know that the previous building only sat about 500 or 600 and this new building seats 2000. So we had a huge draw to see the new place. Over all it was awesome.

New Church Building Part IV

The building is coming along so great and so fast. I'm really excited to be apart of it.

If you look at previous posts, this foyer is coming along nicely
We finally got light in the sanctuary, the outline part is going to be carpet and the big parts are going to stay polished concrete. The two big white squares on the walls are the side screens.
This is a shot of the sound booth, above it is the video room.
This is a shot of the 6 month to 12 month nursery.

As most of you know, I went to Fort Walton Beach Florida a few weeks ago. I thought I would take this opportunity to rub it in everyone's face for a little bit. While you guys were hard at work, I was sitting on the beach getting sunburned!

Enjoy The View.

That's Why I Shop at WalMart

My Dad came to Little Rock for a couple of days to hang out with me. I showed him around town, and actually found some places I had never seen before. We nice little shopping center and decided to walk around a little bit. We walked into the first store, looked at these jeans and turned around and walked out. Our next stop was WalMart, just so we could go home feeling good about ourselves.

$187 for a pair of pants! Who thinks of this stuff?

New Building Part III

You can look at past posts to see how the church has progressed.

They finally got the front doors on!

This is what you will see when you walk in the front doors. In the other pics on this blog there is nothing but a big opening. It has been closed in and will eventually be the information desk.

It is kind of hard to see, but this is a picture of the sound booth. The stairs lead to the video room, and there are seat risers surrounding the sound booth.

Guess My Favorite Movie

I downloaded one of my all time favorite movies this week and I have already watched it about three times. I know some of you are going to laugh, but if you really think about it you will realize that it is one of your favorite movies as well. It is kind of like that Vanilla Ice song "Ice, Ice Baby" when it first came out we all liked it and played it over and over again, then when people started calling him a joke we all stopped listening to it. When it plays today at a sporting event or when we scroll to that secret playlist on our iPod, we still know all of the words to the first verse and still move to the beat. So what is this awesome movie? Well check out the picture and guess. The clues will get easier until some one gets it right.

Memorial Day

This past Memorial Day I got to spend time with my Grandparents. My Grandfather served in the Navy during World War II, and my brother and I got to sit around the dinner table and listen to him tell stories about his time in the military. Listening to him tell his stories is better than watching any movie or reading any book. Some of the stories I have heard before but I could listen to him tell the same story over and over. Below are some pictures of the ship my Grandfather served on. It is an LST, Landing Ship, Tank, which was ship that was made to haul vehicles and supplies and men to the shore during the war. The ship was designed to run up on land and the front opened and unloaded its cargo. As you can tell from the pictures he was on LST 1031. I'm very proud of my Grandfather and I will spend the rest of my life trying to live up to the example he has laid before me.

Thank You Grandpa for fighting for my freedom!  I Love You

Traveling Man

I went to Lafayette Louisiana for Memorial Day weekend. It was great, I got to see my parents, my brother, my niece and nephew, and my Grandparents. I also got to go to my Aunt B's house and eat some real cajun cooking. That is something I don't get up here at all.

This first pic is an example of the terrible traffic I had to face on my drive back to Little Rock.

Grandma and Grandpa holding my niece and nephew

Me and my beautiful niece, Ariel. She is going to be a heartbreaker

My nephew, Isaac. He already has a really strong throwing arm. Plus he is bigger than most kids his age, NFL baby and then he can take care of Uncle D

And the Winner is!

As some of you know, I work for ExpressJet Airlines. We are under contract with Continental Airlines to work their flights at the smaller airports across the nation. Well, for reasons to boring to explain, Continental has grown as dislike for ExpressJet and wants to put us out of business. They started a couple of months ago when they took the contract, for four cities in Louisiana, from ExpressJet and gave them to American Airlines. Today we just received news that Continental has taken the contract for eleven other cities from ExpressJet and gave them to other airlines. Continental has announced their plan to put all contracts, currently held by ExpressJet, up for bidding and it is their intention to give them to airlines other than ExpressJet. Meaning, My brother and I are now looking for new jobs. Todd is the GM of the Ft. Walton Beach airport, and that city was one of the eleven that was announced today. The transition is going to be complete in September. So, if any of you reading this know of well paying jobs that my brother and I can slip into please keep us in mind.

New Church Building Part II

These first three pictures are the same as Part I, it just shows you the progress that has taken place since the last time you saw the building.

This is a picture of the first door installed in the church
This side is really close to being done!

WANTED!

Be on the look out for an unknown person in the Little Rock area walking around with many pairs of mismatched socks. Last seen hanging around local laundry mats. Every time, I have done laundry in this city I end up with one sock that has no match. How can this happen every time?

My Mother's Day Gift

This is my first time messing around with all this stuff. I put this together for my Mom and she really liked it. I did steal some of the inspiration for this from other people, but I don't care. I'm putting it on here because I'm sort of proud of myself for figuring this stuff out all by myself.  I took all the pictures except the very last one. To watch it in full screen and get the best view of it click anywhere on the camera except on the play button. youtube will come up, just under the picture you can click to watch it in high quality. It will start playing and in the bottom right corner of the video is the full screen button. (for those that have never done this either)

I Know You Are But What Am I

So I'm in physical therapy, talking to some of the people that work at the Concentra clinic and a couple of the other people in there getting various body parts worked on, when I hear this high pitched noise. I start looking around trying to figure out what is beeping and I ask Nikki, one of the ladies that works there, if anyone else hears that or is it just in my head. It turns out a timer of some sort was going off and this lady patient starts laughing at me and calls me a "Dork". It was awesome, I had seen her once or twice in the clinic, but by no means did I know her. I don't know how she would ever have come to think that about me, but we had a good laugh.

Helpless?

As many of you know, I go to physical therapy three times a week for my shoulder. This past Monday we were talking about me not being able to work and how I afford to eat. I made the comment that I have become a huge fan of mac and cheese, but I usually buy the wal-mart generic brand. So the people at the physical therapy clinic got together and bought me this. Life is good!

The Days Are Just Packed

Look at that face, I woke her up while trying to get into position to take this picture. This is what our lives have come to, laying around trying to see who can wake the other. Don't feel bad for Daisy cause there are times when I'm sleeping and she will jump in my lap or she does this thing where she shakes her head and her ears flop so loud it wakes me up, but if I sleep through the first time she will continue until I wake up. We have way to much time on out hands.

New Church Building

When I first moved here to Little Rock I found a church to attend named New Life Church. My first time attending they announced that they had just broken ground on their new building. Well it is 6 months later and the building is coming along great. It is at the point now where everything is starting to move really fast. I know I missed a few steps from the beginning till where the building is now, but I just got the camera. I have been helping run wire for the past couple of weeks. So here is a few pics of the building and I plan on updating them as the building comes along.

Front view

Side view
Just to give an idea of the size of this building, the blue lift parked next to the building has the same wheel base size of a full sized car.

View from the foyer into the sanctuary.
That part of the wall that doesn't have sheet rock on it is 10 feet tall

This is one bundle of wire that I helped run. There are three other bundles like this through out the building.

Have you ever?

Have you ever finished checking out at Walmart and had to stop because you couldn't remember what entrance you came in.

Have you ever gone to a fast food drive through and heard the pre-recorded greeting asking if you would like to try a value meal and when you answer back the employee comes back on and tells you to hold on.

Have you ever gotten into your vehicle, fought through traffic, searched for a parking spot in the busy mall parking lot, walked into the mall and then forgot what it was you went there for.
